The Seiko HCC009J1 is a limited-edition collaboration between Seiko Presage and TRADMAN'S BONSAI — the creative collective specialising in the production and curation of bonsai spaces, founded in 2015 with a mission to share the traditional Japanese art of bonsai with the world. Limited to 2,000 pieces worldwide, each individually serial-numbered, the HCC009J1 is inspired by the serene beauty of a Japanese black pine bonsai illuminated by moonlight: the matsuba-iro (pine needle green) textured dial evokes the powerful character and texture of an aging pine tree, while gold-tone accents on the case and strap represent the glow of the moon. Powered by the 6R51 automatic calibre with 72-hour power reserve, it is housed in a compact 38 mm stainless steel case with a dual-curved sapphire crystal featuring anti-reflective coating.
