D1 Milano's most talked-about release this year isn't a traditional launch at all — it's the "Impossible Watch", created with 3D artist Peter Tarka, whose past collaborators include Apple, Nike and Porsche. The project, launched on Kickstarter on June 30, 2026, gets its name because Tarka's original digital design literally wouldn't function as a real watch; D1 Milano reinterpreted its form to make it wearable.
The compact 36mm case wears a sapphire crystal with a blue anti-reflective coating, carries 5 ATM of water resistance, and runs a digital movement developed specifically for the piece. D1 Milano re-engineered the case and bracelet in aluminium, shaving 50% off the weight and unlocking anodized colour finishes. Studio Editions are priced at $495, with Colour Editions at $545.
