The fine art of Urushi in a Seiko
Inspired from Japan's everlasting fascination with the moon, the limited edition Urushi Byakudan-nuri is born. A crescent moon can be seen on the front, as the power reserve and on the back, seen through the sapphire glass case back.
Limited to 2000 pcs worldwide, numbered
Byakudan-nuri is one of the most elaborate lacquer techniques - it was previously used for objects in higher status like temples and shrines. The complex processes are completed by hand by the craftsmen and women in the studio of Urushi master Isshu Tamura in the Hokuiku region of Honshu, Japan’s main island.
